In 1994 Peter Cushing (1913 – 1994) published this c. 6″ x 8½” first and only edition of this charming fantasy story. Mr. Cushing wrote this book for the daughter of Mrs. Joyce Broughton, his secretary for 35 years , who suffered from dyslexia. Mr. Cushing’s intention was to sign all 500 copies, but due to his failing health (he passed away on August 11 , 1994) he managed to sign only a few copies. This copy ( no. 345 of 500 Limited Edition colpies ) was not signed .
