He was one of England’s most succesful character actors, and appeared in many British films and tv-series, a.o. : 10 Rillington Place (1971), Demons of the Mind (Hammer, 1972), Psychomania (1973), Frankenstein (1994) and as Cornelius Fudge in the Harry Potter films.
